These fluffy, bite-sized cinnamon sugar churro bites deliver all the warm, sweet flavor of classic Spanish churros without messy deep frying 🍯. Made conveniently with store-bought puff pastry, this quick treat comes together in minutes using your air fryer. Crisp on the outside, light and airy inside, each piece gets coated in fragrant cinnamon sugar while still hot to lock in the sweet coating. Perfect for a simple dessert, cozy afternoon snack or tiny party bite!
Ingredients 🧾
1 sheet store-bought puff pastry, fully thawed (roughly 8×8 inches) 2 tbsp melted unsalted butter 🧈 ¼ cup granulated white sugar 🍚 1 tsp ground cinnamon 🥃 Cooking spray, or a pastry brush with light neutral oil
Method 👩🍳
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) 🔥. Unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet onto a clean flat surface. Slice the pastry into 1-inch wide strips, then cut each strip into small, bite-sized chunks.
- Place all pastry pieces into a bowl, then drizzle over the melted butter. Gently toss everything until every pastry chunk is lightly coated. In a separate medium bowl, stir together granulated sugar and ground cinnamon to create your cinnamon-sugar mixture, and set it aside.
- Lightly spritz the air fryer basket with cooking spray, or brush a thin layer of oil across the base. Arrange the buttered pastry bites in a single flat layer; make sure the pieces do not touch one another. Cook for 6–8 minutes, shaking the air fryer basket halfway through the cooking time. Continue baking until the pastry puffs up beautifully and turns a rich golden brown 🟡.
- As soon as you remove the warm pastry bites from the air fryer, transfer them straight into the cinnamon sugar bowl. Toss rapidly while the bites are still hot — the residual heat helps the sugar mixture stick evenly to every surface. Serve immediately while warm and enjoy 😋!
